Bau Lake, Kuching

Bau Lake is a popular recreational and picnic spot in the 70's. I do recall going there for enjoyment during the school holiday season with classmates & friends. To take a stroll further down memory lane...... my Uncle & Auntie used to bring us there during the weekend for car-ride and to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake.

Bau Lake is situated in Bau, which is one of the twenty-eight districts in Sarawak and is also situated within Kuching Division. It is an inland district about 35 kilometres by road from Kuching. The district capital is Bau Town. Bau Town is also popularly known as the 'Gold Town of Sarawak' due to its rich gold ore deposits and gold mining activities in the past.

Today, Bau Lake is still a popular place for tourist and local alike to visit and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful and quiet view of the lake.
