Day Trip to Melaka - what to expect??

Our original plan is a two days one night stay in Melaka, but with a work commitment coming up for Karen we then decided to go for a day trip instead, more of a "Food Road Trip!"

Waking up earlier than usual, have breakfast at departure lounge, Damansara Utama, PJ, then start our day's trip to Melaka ~ smiles ~

Our first stop upon arrival at Melaka I queue up for the Chicken Rice Ball while Karen parked her car.....

Stopped by this stall to buy Chendol
Though the weather is rather hot but we both manage to exercise our feet, take some stroll around the nearby area, then walk back to our car and enjoy the cold icy Chendol.  Next, we decided to stay indoor at a Shopping Mall, followed by afternoon tea......

After the yummy Crepe and several glasses of tea in the cool environment, we then decided to move around Melaka's famous  A Farmosa and its surrounding areas.  We managed to capture lots of nice photos.....

Feeling satisfied with the clicking of our cameras we then decided to go for another round of food before our Nyonya Dinner - Satay Celup!

Right after this we drove to MAKKO to enjoy the real taste of Nyonya foods.......

After a satisfying meal, we made our way back to KL.  It's indeed a journey full of nice yummy foods which satisfy our taste buds as well as great moments with my daughter Karen!

Since I left working life, with the free time that I have, I try to network with old classmates and schoolmates and since then we have been having frequent get-together, enjoying the fun, laughter and lots of catching up after more than 30 years of 'lost and found' for some of us.

30th July, Dinner at Taman Kereta

6th July, some friends came over for Henghua Mee, including Janet who flew in from JB

7th July, another get-together at Sarawak Club with Esther's hubby footing the bill
On 23rd July I met up with an ex-colleague Lim for breakfast.....

After breakfast we sent Yang Kheng back to office, while Shirley and myself proceed to Karaoke at my home....

quenching our thirsty throat from all the singing with my home-made Ice Lollies....
Shirley flipping through my Red Packet Collection.......
Thank you Lord for blessing me with my family members and friends who are always there for me.  My earlier thought when I made my decision to quit working is that I will be lonely, but with many wonderful people around me I am enjoying every moment of my life........

My Personal Reflections [Part 6]

"There seem to be another short trip with my mum coming up, let me go direct to the point!"

With Firefly flying KL/KG/KL, both me and my mum get to travel in this new airline ~ SMILES ~ We are both happy with the service, not only that it is on time but also the smooth-landing, Great!

This trip is sort of a weekend-getaway, with both of us coming in to KL on a Thursday and leaving on a Sunday.  Early next morning, (Friday) Karen drove us to Jalan Alor to have Curry Mee and Pan Mian, after which we proceed to Menara KL.  It's mum's first time at Menara KL and she seem to enjoy it very much, not to mention the horse carriage ride hehe......

Guess what we have for dinner??? KL's popular dish "Bak Kut Teh", which is very much different from the one that we have in Kuching, in terms of portion and taste.......

The next day Saturday, the three of us drove to Petaling Street to have Barbecue Duck, which is so yummy and tasty, and also bought some Roasted Pork to go with it! We also try a hand on Prawn Mee.

After a sumptuous breakfast, we drove to Berjaya Time Square spending our time walking and window shopping. We then stop by at Kim Gary Restaurant for afternoon tea, as well as relaxing our tired legs.....
Platter of mixed set comprises of bake corn, egg, french fries, fish fillet, sausage, ham & vege

Spanish seafood fried rice set
With a full tummy we then take a stroll around the Time Square Theme Park, took some photos, then made our way home.

We have a late dinner with Alex joining us  after his official trip from Miri - Spaghetti with prawns, Chicken Chop, Cantonese Mee and Mixed Grill.....

We all enjoyed the meal.....

Time really flies, it's Sunday and time for both me and mum to fly back to Kuching.  We went to have Dim Sum for breakfast and then off to KLIA. A few of the Dim Sum to share here.....

Though it's a short three nights stay in KL, but we both enjoyed many of KL's yummy delicious foods! It's indeed a worthy short trip, till then bye.... I will be back together with my mum again ~ CHEERS ~
