Off for a week holiday! [Part 1]

My last holiday was with my mum on 5th May 2011!  It has been more than two years and finally, I get to go for a week holiday, away from home and my usual home task of cooking, washing, mending, cleaning, dusting and not to mention taking care of my only grandson, Brendan!

Special thanks to my dear friend and Secondary school-mate Janet who invited me to come over to her sweet-cozy home in JB.

It's a dark, cool Wednesday morning on 15th May that I boarded the 6am. Air Asia flight to JB and was met by my maiden friend Janet at Senai Airport.  Right after that I was treated to a yummy breakfast of Dim Sum with so many variety which definitely can't get to eat it in Kuching!  Here's a few to introduce with the must have, Durian Puff!!!

After settling down at her home and unpack my things, we both went out for a drive in the surrounding areas and ended up at Aeon, with another round of food at Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks and followed with shopping.....

We shared a bowl of Oyster Mee Sua and Crispy Floss Egg Crepe

We have these dishes for our dinner at Kak Kak Loke

That's the end of my first day in JB, and have to get an early night sleep for our trip to Singapore the next day!

Irresponsible drivers on the loose......

Why? OH Why?? Why are drivers becoming more irresponsible these days???

With more new and modern technologies coming up, drivers who love to speak on their cell phone while driving should safe guard them self and others by using some form of hands free gadget!

Today, if we care to take a peek at the drivers next to us, many are seen with their cell phones either on their ears or even with their hands and eyes fixed on their phones - reading news, checking their e-mails, etc.... etc.... Isn't this 'road-unworthiness?'  Many a times you need to give a 'honk' to the vehicle in front to get them going as they are too busy with their phones than the road!

"Drivers" let us all try to be careful and practice proper road safety habits not only for the safety of the driver them self BUT everyone! Lives of many innocent road users will be at stack if many irresponsible drivers are  on the loose!  Care and concern for each other is a driver's responsibility, never take things for granted or else any carelessness will be a 'heavy-burden' for LIFE!

Jeff Gracia's quote is meaningful, so do bear it in mind.....

"I think I'm very conscientious of how precious life is and how quickly life can be taken away from you, especially at times when it can be  least expected."

Life is precious, don't let it be shattered or else it will brings REGRET! Another quote from Howard Thurman to share with all the irresponsible drivers......

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive.  And then go and do that Because what the world needs is people who have come alive"

Peace & Quiet!

We all need some peace and quiet from time to time!  Where would you go and what would you do then????

Some would prefer taking a long drive to some distant place, such as seaside, parks, gardens or for some they might just stay in their room with closed doors!! Individual people have their own preferences and there's no right or wrong in whatever decision that each one makes!

Personally for me, whenever I need peace and quiet, I would take a short drive to The Blessed Sacrament Church at BDC.  Let me share some photos which best explains the beautiful and peaceful environment....

How much he have grown....

When Brendan is born, he's just a tiny little baby......
At that point of time I am still doubting whether I can handle him all by myself, while his parents went back to KL to get on with their career.  Negative thoughts came into my mind as I have not taken care of any small baby since after my youngest son, Aaron, which is roughly 21 years ago!

During the month of confinement for Brendan's mummy, I tried to 'sharpen my saw' by learning and practicing as much as possible from the Confinement Lady.  With my past experiences it is not as difficult as it seem, except great effort is needed to care for him.  I have to sacrifice all my time for him and everything have to be at his expense not mine, like before.

Who could have imagine, how fast my grandson Brendan have grown??? In a weeks time he will be 21 months old. Soon he will be experiencing his first flight journey back to his new nest in a huge city.

This next photo will sure surprise you all too.....
