My personal views........[1]

"Mistakes are painful when they happen
But year's later collection of mistakes is called experience, which leads to success!"

How many people do admit their own mistakes??? If we care to observe people and situations around us each day, we tend to agree to the fact that most people do not like owning up to their mistakes with the very simple reason of personal pride & egoism.

I believe that no one is perfect, and in one way or another we tend to make mistakes, just a matter of fact whether the mistake is a minor or serious one!!!

We can't deny that serious mistakes are always painful when it happens and most people are unable to accept the fact of such a mistake. Some even try to hide from it ; others will put the blame on people around them; while there are some who even manage to put an act as if it is not their fault.

Looking at mistakes positively and be brave to come forward to own up and accept them will bring us to achieve greater success and heights. It is through mistakes that we learn to do things the right way as along the way we gain experiences. We will then be more wise as we learn from such mistakes and will remind our self not to make the same mistake again.

A 'must visit garden' for all orchid lovers!

Having this passion & admiration for plants that bear flowers since I was young, I just couldn't wait any longer to visit Kuching's one and only 'Orchid Garden' which was recently officiated by our CM on 5th March 2010.

On the morning of 17th March (Wednesday), I went to pick up my childhood friend Alice and her daughter Alicia, and off we headed to the site of this so called 'DBKU Orchid Garden'. This Orchid Garden is strategically located in a park setting on a 15.4 acres site within the vicinity of the magnificent New Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak, the historical Astana and the Ford Margherita.

As the saying 'Pictures/photos tells a thousand stories', so ......... let these photos below relate all the magnificent beauty & views of this fabulous orchid garden to all.......

Anyway, these are not all....... there are much more for you all to experience in person. Remember...... don't let the beauty of these orchids kept waiting......... grab your chance and see for yourself now!

From the OLD to the NEW

From the old.........
to the new.........
These two photos are not extracted from any other sources but personally captured using my NIKON COOLPIX 5100 digital camera dated this very day itself. With the migration of our state's legislative complex it is symbolic to make an account of it as history is something which we might need to recap in the future.........

Celebrating CNY the UNIQUE way...... [Final]

After a week of our holiday in KL, finally its time for us three to pack up & take our flight home to Kuching.

After the CNY public holidays, its time for Choulyee to get back to work while Alex is taking another day of leave to be with the family. We put all our bags & luggages into the car booth and off we left in Alex car and he drove us to Mines to try our taste buds on KL's Dim Sum. We've tasted the different types of Dim Sum which are offered there, and it's delicious.

After breakfast he drove us through the housing area and showed us the house which he stayed just before moving to Pandan Indah, Cheras. As Karen is intending to have her haircut, so Alex brought us to Mines Shopping Mall. Surprisingly, the haircut charges is cheap, only RM5 which both me & Karen suspected will cost roughly about rm30 to rm40, which is very normal in KL and not to mention, the cutting skill is good as well as its fast service.

After the haircut we walked round and found 'Hang Teng' shop, and Karen bought two white T-Shirts which she required for her job at Redang. We then take our round at the Mall's supermarket and as there's nothing much to shop so we left for KLIA.

We are suprised to see that KLIA is rather quiet and there aren't many travellers around, as it used to be. We checked in first then off we go to the shoppe to buy some gardenier's buns. After which we decided to grab something to eat at Burger King. In actual fact me & Karen intended to have other foods to eat instead of Burger King, but after taking a look around the foods at the food courts, there is nothing else which suits my taste buds, so we end up joining them for burgers at Burger King.

As we finished our meals, its almost time for our flight, so we walked to the departure area, bid farewell to each other and left for the departure hall, while Alex & Karen drove back home. We arrived in Kuching slightly after 5 p.m., took a taxi and reached home about 5.30 p.m.

Celebrating CNY the UNIQUE way...... [Part 6]

16th February (Tuesday), on the morning of the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, we all had home-made sandwiches by Choulyee, then started our journey to Genting just to get away from the glaring heat in KL.

As usual we went in two cars - Dad, Mum & Karen in one while Alex, Choulyee & Aaron in the other. We drove to the Genting Skyway Station, parked our cars, then purchase the skyway tickets to get to our destination. As it is the holiday season, we have to join the long queue........

The fog is very heavy upon reaching to the top, the surrounding is cold and even can feel the droplets of water.

When we reached there, we break into two groups - Dad, Alex & Choulyee went to the Casino while Mum, Karen & Aaron to the Theme Park. My intention was to help them take care of their bags & stuffs while they enjoy their rides in the Theme Park. We were then informed that most of the rides are cancelled, so we decided not to enter, instead going for other indoor games & activities.

On our way round we took some photos.......

They both try their hands on Genting's Bowling Lane.........

After their bowling session we decided to stop for a good buffet lunch at the restaurant of First World as compensation for not entering the Theme Park. We took our seats over-looking the beautiful scenery 'while we dine we enjoy the beauty that the surroundings has to offer!!'

After a full lunch, we go for a stroll in the surrounding area until Karen is ready for her rock climbing. We purchase the ticket at the counter and proceed to the place. Next is their games of Archery.........

As we headed outdoor the sun seems to be shining rather brightly but the breeze is still cooling. Sister is challenging brother for a ride in the 'Flying Coaster'........

After their ride, we headed back into First World and then purchase two tickets for the Rio Float where myself & Karen have our ride. It is then time for us to get going in order not to meet with the long queues at the Skyway.

Something more sophisticated........

I just wish that Kuching will soon have the more sophisticated types of Basement Car Parks in Shopping Malls like this one which I've come across at Mines in KL.
Click on image to get a clearer view

Why is it considered sophisticated????? Well, the moment we drive into this parking lots, it is very easy for us to identify from a distance the availability of parking spaces with the lighted bulbs hanging down from the roof. If the lights are green it means parking spaces are available while the red bulbs shows other wise. A digital device is also present to show the total number of parking lots for the particular level, total being occupied and its vacant lots. It is not only sophisticated but SMART!! This new techonological change is something which I believe all would love to look forward to as it benefits everyone as a whole........

Celebrating CNY the UNIQUE way...... [Part 5]

15th February 2010 (Monday) - We all decided the night before to spoil ourselves by sleeping late with no intention of going on a long journey but to spend quality family time at home instead!

Have a light breakfast at home with Nescafe & CNY Cakes, Biscuits & Barbecue Meat Slices. Just before noon we went out to look for something to grab for lunch and as most of the stalls are still close so we ended up having SAKAE SUSHI. The word 'SAKAE' means 'growth' in Japanese. The best thing about this SUSHI is it comes with its own brand of Genmaicha Tea Bag which is Green tea & Roasted rice. It really has a nice unique aroma which I've never tasted before, and really love it!

The Frog symbolises a brand that is far sighted and poised to grow by leaps and bounds. Its smile indicates a friendly company, welcoming all. It also characterizes the friendly service staff fronting our restaurants ensuring that all our guests and customers enjoy their meals and leave the restaurants happy. Last but not least, the logo symbol and Sakae Sushi set in a refreshing green, is synonymous with g
rowth and health.

We've tasted the various types of Sushi which are offered there including the rice. Choulyee & Alex bought a box of Tea Bag for us to bring back home Kuching, which I am now enjoying it while updating this blog article.

We then decided to get some vege & ingredients for our home-cook dinner as well as the next morning's breakfast, which Choulyee prefer Sandwiches. We went into Giant Supermarket & did our shopping & left with all the things which we need for our cooking and on our way home bought a packet of Kueh Tiaw Soup for Karen as she's taking a good rest after her long journey travelling since Thursday night by Express Bus from KL/Kuala Terengganu/1 and a half hours ferry journey to Redang Resort, had her interview, then stayed over for a night and made a return trip again to KL/Melaka to meet up with us on Saturday night. The long bus & ferry ride is really tiring and further more following us with the Melaka trip and back to KL!!!

We all enjoyed the simple home-cooked dinner which I prepared and also the tossing of Yu Sheng which Choulyee bought. This customary of tossing Yu Sheng with everyone standing up with their chopsticks while saying "toss for good health, good luck & prosperity" and the Yu Sheng which is tossed higher and higher will symbolize continuous promotions.

Karen is not being captured as she is our camera-girl!

After dinner, we all gather for our usual 'Card' games during the CNY, we don't gamble big money but using coins, just to have a feel of this season and a happy-fun time for our family. Alex also bought few cans of beer to add more cheers to our celebration. It is indeed another day of fun, laughter, happiness, peace & love!!!
