KUCHING - A City Of Cats!

Kuching City, which is situated on the island of Borneo is the largest city and capital of the beautiful land of Sarawak.

Kuching's name is originated from many sources. In the Malay language, Kuching means cat. Some sources say that Kuching originated from the Chinese word "Gu Chin" which means harbour. Another sources say that Kuching is named after a lychee like fruit called Mata Kuching (Cat's eye).

Whatever it is doesn't matter....... the important thing is when you happen to come to Kuching for the first time, don't be too surprise if you see statues of cats in and around the city. Cats has been an Icon for Kuching City. Just talking about it won't mean anything without really looking at it with your own eyes right??

Here comes the photos........

This statue is situated at Kuching City South (Padungan Road). Taken with my friends from Sabah during the Christmas season. Photo of the cat with the Bow-Tie marks this festive occasion.

That's all about it for the time being. Will continue on this topic later. Happy reading!
