May 23rd is World Turtle Day, a day which was founded in 1990 by the American Tortoise Rescue.
The purpose of this day is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive. Let us all do our part to be kind to turtles and tortoises not only on 23rd May but any other days........
