Let me share with you some tips from a Women's Magazine' which I've read..... It states that if a person is complaining about too much stress, the first thing that they should adjust or change is their diet. Here are some nutrition guidelines which can help to manage stress more effectively:-
- Control your weight through exercise and good eating habits. Obesity is a major risk factor for high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer.
- Limit fat to less than 30 percent of your total calories. High fat diets are associated with an increase in cholesterol and cancer.
- Increase the proportion of vegetables and fruits in your diet. High intake of meat is associated with an increased risk of colon cancer.
- Limit salt and smoked food. Both salt and foods such as bacon, sausage, ham & luncheon meats may be associated with an increased risk in cancer.
- Limit intake of alcohol. Heart disease and high blood pressure have been directly linked to the over-consumption of alcohol.
- Increase fibre-containing foods. A diet rich in whole grains, rice, beans, fruits and vegetables helps to decrease cholesterol and protects against cancer and heart disease.
- Eat right and your stress level will be reduced.
