A 'Cute, Wide' smile on a wonderful morning!

Praise The Lord for a cool, fresher morning in Kuching City today!! When the rain suddenly comes late last night, it is like 'gold dropping from the sky!' We really wish that it will be a big downpour instead of just droplets or rather known as passing rain!!

When I wake up this morning, the first thing I do is take a glance out of the window, take a deep breath......... well...... indeed we haven't been inhaling cool, fresh air off late. What a pity!! Guess our lungs must be full of dirty particles. At least for this morning I am able to smell the sweet morning dew and not the smelly, hazy, smoky & suffocating air!

To celebrate Smile Month & a wonderful morning, here's to wish you all.........

"smiles when sadness invades you,
confidence when you have doubts,
comfort when you believe you are not in good spirits,
friends to light up your life,
nice things that your eyes can admire,
Rainbows to climb up to the clouds".

Smile--Smile--Smile

Let's continue to grab this golden opportunity on 'SMILE' month to bring cheers, love, happiness, joys, peace and good tidings to all people around the globe though our magic 'smiles'!
Here's a great poem by Lealon R. Tate to share with all & 'Keep Smiling' always!!

Smile--Smile--Smile

A smile is beautiful with all its charm
Something to give but does no harm
A smile is a frown only upside down
It has a good feeling, just look around
A smile is a flash that cannot be sold
It has everlasting pleasure we are told
A smile is like the sunshine at its very best
Some wear it all the time until they lay down to rest
A smile is valuable like gold and silver
But it cannot be bought just always on hold
A smile is nothing till someone gives it away
Just try your best to receive it someday
A smile is like a statue that enriches the mind
You cannot steal or throw away but not hard to find
A smile is for the rich also for the poor
The benefits are the same till there is no more
A smile is for everyone with its action so true
It creates happiness in the home for me and you
A smile is a smile as known to mankind
Stand up in front and smile not stand behind

A month where SMILES are everywhere..........

Like I used to say, August is my favourite month, it is a month full of great celebrations.......... one after another: Kuching City Day, Kuching Festival Food Fair, activities for the coming up National Day celebration and...... and.......

Most importantly of all, it's 'SMILE Month!'

"A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside"
~ Denis Waitley ~

"After every storm the sun will smile; for every problem there is a solution, and the souls indefeasible duty is to be of good cheer"

"Keep smiling friends.........."

Birds........

Listening to those small creatures 'Chirping' outside our window is indeed glorious music to our ears....... It's like calling us "Wake Up! It's a bright sunny day!" and for moments when we are feeling lousy....... a bird's chirping could really brighten us up!! What magical feelings indeed!!!!
Talking about birds, I just couldn't help sharing this great & meaningful poem by Gitaanjali Naidu 'Had I been a bird' with all my online friends........ Hope you all like it too!!

Had I been a bird

Had I been a bird,
i would fly high in the sky,
enjoy the bird's-eye view of this beautiful world,
that God has gifted to us.
I would fly to different nations,
with my mighty wings,
and spread the song of,
Love and Peace.

Had I been a bird
I would wake up people,
with my enchanting and melodious songs.
I would carry them away from
their never ending troubles,
to the world of everlasting bliss.

Had I been a bird
I would be the herald of true love,
carry the epistle,
to unite the broken hearts,
with the bond of care and adoration.

Had I been a bird
I would care no caste nor creed,
extricate the shackles of discrimination,
be the symbol of equality,
Love those who share my notion,
and for whom I shall build a mansion. (of hay)

Had I been a bird
I would wait for no instruction,
Nor will I command.
I shall pick the grains of my choice,
for I am the master of my heart and will,
and do all befitting for Love and Peace.

I personally would like to thank God for this great poet who not only write this beautiful & meaningful poem but sharing it with the whole world.

What a scary feeling........

The thought of 'Haze is back' has always been a scary feeling to many, especially when we recall being badly affected back in 1997!!!

When we rise in the early morning, it has always been great to take a morning walk, enjoying the fresh cool morning soft breeze; opening of our house windows & doors to air the bedrooms and even to allow the fresh air to enter our sweet home; some might prefer doing some gardening or washing their cars......... well...... the hazy environment is changing our daily doings from 'Do's' to 'Dont's'! So sad indeed!!

Even staying indoors with the windows & doors close, the hazy & smoky smell is enough to drive us nuts!! It will be worst for those with asthma & nose allergy. In this state of hazy situation with an API reading exceeding 100 points in most areas it is better to stay indoors (if possible)..........

For those who are working outdoors or have to travel, do take extra care, drink more water and may God Bless & Protect you all.........

A new fashion 'Dog Collar'

Most dog owners tends to get a 'Dog Collar' for their pet dog at home, which is used for the purpose of control, identification, fashion or other purposes. We might have seen something like this........

or this.........

or even

But......... have anyone seen one like this?????????

Oops....... sorry cos' this photo is taken in the evening time, so it's rather dark, but if you click on the picture to get a bigger image you will be able to see this new 'Dog Collar'. It is the first of it's kind I've ever seen!!! It's a slipper hanging onto it's collar!!!! You might want to know why the owner hangs a slipper on its neck??? Well...... well..... this dog loves biting shoes so much that the owner have to use this 'superstitious' method to put an end to it's bad habit...........!

"TEAMWORK"

Edward Abbey says.........

"One man alone can be pretty dumb sometimes, but for real bona fide stupidity, there ain't nothin' can beat teamwork."

Mattie Stepanek says.......

"Unity is strength......... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved."

Teamwork is very important in all aspects of everyone's lives....... be it at work, schools, at any social activities and even at home. To be successful we all need to get together and work in a team in order to be able to complete each task well. Not only do humans like us needs teamwork for survival but...........
So, for those who cannot get along or work in a team, hope this picture will knock some sense into your mind and heart!!!

'Life's Moral' article for sharing

I belief that most of us must have read many 'Life's Moral' articles from many sources. I've got one which must be shared, though some might have read it before, but it's no harm reading it one more time as this type of articles brings much teachings to our life thus enable us to enhance & improve our daily undertakings.

The Donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Moral:

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles are stepping stones. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
  1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive
  2. Free your mind from worries (which most never happens)
  3. Live simply and appreciate what you have
  4. Give more
  5. Expect less from people but more from God
